With programs designed for toddlers to teens, St. Lucie County libraries provide a variety of FREE educational programs that promote literacy and enhance social skills.

- S.T.E.A.M. Power! Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art & math in a storytime. Most suited for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.
- Wednesday, April 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch
- Thursday, April 3 at 5 p.m. at the Lewis Branch
- Saturday, April 5 at 3 p.m. at the Hurston Branch
- Saturday, April 12 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch
- Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Drop in during regular hours to see if you can find all the clues.
- Legos and More on Saturday, April 5 & 19 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Lakewood Park Branch. Join the library staff for building with LEGO bricks along with cards, board games and crafts.
- Movie Matinee: “The Wild Robot” (2024) on Saturday, April 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose. This animated feature is rated PG with a running time of 102 minutes.
- Kid’s Crafternoon on Tuesday, April 8 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Enjoy an afternoon of crafts at the library. All materials supplied. Best suited for kids in grades 3-8.
- LEGO Fun at the Library on Thursday, April 10 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Come enjoy building and creating with LEGO bricks in the library. Best suited for elementary students.
- Game Day on Wednesday, April 16 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Cards, Monopoly and more. Some supplies are provided or bring your favorites.
- Family Game Night on Thursday, April 17 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Join us at the library for some good old board game fun. This is a family event for parents and children. Bring your own family game or use some of ours
- Grow a Sunflower on Friday, April 18 at 1 p.m. at the Hurston Branch. Plant a sunflower seed in your very own customized pot. Most suitable for students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade.
- Children’s Crafternoon on Saturday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Morningside Branch. Make your own DIY Spring Wreath Craft to decorate the front door, a bedroom door, or anywhere. Most suitable for students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade.
- LEGO Fun at the Library on Saturday, April 19 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Hurston Branch. Enjoy building and creating with LEGO bricks in the library. Most suitable for grades kindergarten through 3rd grade.
- Family Crafternoon on Wednesday, April 23 at 2 p.m. at the Kilmer Branch. Join us for family-friendly art in the afternoon and work on an art project together. This program is intended for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Kid Crafternoon on Wednesday, April 23 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Join us in creating. All supplies provided. Best suited for ages 10 and older.

- Just Baby & Me on Tuesdays at the Lewis Branch (Two sessions at 10:30 and 11 a.m.). Fun for you and your baby. Best suited for infants up to 1 year old.
- Storytime Jam at 10:30 a.m. Clap, dance and listen to stories. For ages 3-5.
- Wednesdays at the Kilmer Branch
- Thursdays at the Hurston Branch
- Music & Motion for Kids at 10:30 a.m. - Action songs, movement, singing and fun. For children younger than 6 with a caregiver.
- Wednesdays at the Lewis Branch (Two sessions: 10:30 & 11 a.m.)
- Wednesdays at the Morningside Branch
- Fridays at the Lakewood Park Branch
- Pre-school Storybook Craft at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 4 and 5 are invited to listen to stories and then join their parents and caregivers for a related craft.
- Thursdays at the Lakewood Park Branch

- Tales & Play on Fridays at the Morningside Branch. Children ages infant to 5 years old and their caregivers are invited for a storytime. Afterward, all are welcome to stay for some open playtime.
- Bilingual Storytime at the Lewis Branch on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy story time in English and Spanish.
April Teen & Tween Programs

- Teen Gaming Tournament on Saturday, April 12 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. A fun filled afternoon of video game excitement in this Nintendo Switch Tournament where players compete for victory. Best suited for ages 11-18.
- Teen Table Time on Tuesdays, April 15 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Tweens and teens gather for various role-playing game adventures across fantastical worlds. Best suited for ages 11-18.
- Anime Multimedia Club on Wednesday, April 16 at 4:15 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. Teens and tweens come and meet up with friends and share your passion for all things anime and manga. Best suited for grades 6 and up.
- Teen Crafternoon on Thursday, April 17 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Enjoy an afternoon of crafts at the library. Best suited for ages 11-18. All materials supplied.
- Teen Silent Book Club on Saturday, April 19 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Kilmer Branch. Bring your own book and read in companionable silence with other booklovers. Read for an hour together, and if you choose, stay for optional social time to share what you’re reading. Best suited for high school students. For questions call 772-462-2199.
- Blackout Poetry on Wednesday, April 23 at 2:15 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. Celebrate National Poetry Month by learning how to create your own blackout poetry. Best suited for teens and tweens ages 11-18.
- Teen Gaming Tournament on Thursday, April 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Students ages 11 – 18 can compete in a Nintendo Switch tournament to see who will be victorious.
